On November 7, 2005, the women of the Senior Center officially became a chapter of the National Red Hat Society: The MARC Amazing Red Caps The Red Hat Society is an exclusive group for women to get together and celebrate aging. It is a time for women to have some fun. There is no standard "meeting" that is held. It is more of a social gathering - meeting new friends, having tea, lunch, going to the movies, site-seeing, etc.- as long as it is fun!!! You can spot a group of red hatters by their wears. Women under the age of 50 wear pink hats and lavender clothes. On their 50th birthday, they graduate to the traditional Red Hat Society attire of red hats and purple clothes. |
