Project SEARCH Graduates the Class of 2021

On May 21st, the Class of 2021 graduated from MARC, Inc. of Manchester’s ProjectSEARCH program. Keynote speaker was Goodwin University President Mark Scheinberg. The program focuses on independence, life skills, and employment. Interns gain hands-on experience in a career-focused setting. “We’re so proud of our graduates, because completing the curriculum and internship rotation during a pandemic year required everyone to go above and beyond!” said Lindsey Sidera, MARC, Inc.'s ProjectSEARCH Coordinator.

Please meet our reMARCable interns:

Kelsey Brochero

Kelsey’s friendly and kind nature shines every day, and her crafts brighten up the office! Her internship rotations were with the Administrative offices, then Facilities office at Goodwin University, followed by experience at Water’s Edge Equestrian Center. She loves working with animals and children. Her dream is to go to college, and work with children and art in some way.

Brian Pelletier

Already an Eagle Scout, Brian is a natural leader. He is conscientious about the quality of his work. His internship rotations were with Goodwin’s Facilities department, organizing Project SEARCH’s on-campus recycling program, and with Empire Tools. Brian graduates with a job lined up with the Town of South Windsor schools system.

Chris Ortiz

It would be hard to find someone as honest as Chris. His internship rotations were in Facilities and IT departments at Goodwin University, and then Center Perk café in Manchester. He is a hard worker who wants to get the job at hand done. He would like a permanent position that is task oriented and goal driven.

Carolyn Thompson

Carolyn is an artist with a creative soul. At Goodwin University, she interned in the office of the Registrar and then in the Nursing department. In the community, she has worked for Tonsha Marketing and Hidden Meadows Horse Farm. She graduates expecting to work in daycare.

David Rees

David is very social and loves to make people laugh. He worked with Goodwin’s Facilities department, with Project SEARCH’s on-campus recycling program and at Hidden Meadows Horse Farm.

MARC will continue to support its Project SEARCH graduates, and looks forward to being the only agency to have two site locations starting in September - Goodwin University and Hartford Hospital.
