It’s a Busy Summer at MARC

It’s been such a busy start to summer here at MARC that we didn’t even have the opportunity to blog last week! So here’s a round-up of all the activities we’ve had to this point, and what’s coming up next…

On June 14th, a Staff Appreciation Picnic was held in our outdoor patio area where employees who have reached milestone years were honored. Reaching five years of service were: Shyeeda Grahame, Judy Leffbine, Shanthal Nichols, Maureen Stewart, Jennifer Varley, Sara Vrakas, Kathleen Walbridge, and Angela Wilcox. Reaching ten years of service were: Dominic Acquah, John Chisholm, Tom Kolodziej, Olusegun Olasunkanmi, Michael Robinson, and Candy Washington. Reaching fifteen years of service was Liz Hernandez. Reaching twenty-five years of service were Mary Jean and Dawn Russell. Congratulations to all of our great staff for their achievements!

On June 28th, we said goodbye to two of our own as Roger Marchand of nineteen years and Karen Steullet of thirteen years both retired from MARC. We truly can’t thank them enough for all that they have contributed to the people we serve here, throughout the years in different capacities they have held within the organization. A cookout was held on June 26th in celebration of them both, and cake was provided on their last day to be enjoyed by all in attendance. Both Roger and Karen will be missed by those who knew them and worked with them!

Coming up in the immediate horizon is our Summer Concert Series. This year we have a lineup featuring three great bands: Mass-Conn-Fusion for Janie’s Dance Party on July 16, Changes In Latitudes on July 23rd, Nightshift on our Night to Honor Veterans on July 30th. All concerts are free to attend, and begin at 6:30 p.m. We hope you’ll join us for some great music and fun times!

Last up for our fun summer is our 20th Annual Golf Tournament on August 8th, to be held at the Manchester Country Club. This is one of our biggest fundraisers of the year, and it’s a fun day in the sun pinging golf balls around a beautiful course. Spots are still open for golfers to join us, and sponsorship opportunities are still available as well. Won’t you join us?

We’ll be back next week, after the holiday, to check in again. Have a safe and happy 4th of July!
