What's New at MARC

Thanks for joining us again this week - did you also know that we have Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts that you can follow us on?

There’s always a lot going on here at MARC; we’re happy to share our world with you!

Uncle Kevin Dishes Them Up

On Friday, May 3rd, a Pancake Breakfast was held for all MARC Employees and the people that we serve. The MARC Directors rolled up their sleeves and prepared the pancakes for everyone. President and CEO Kevin Zingler did his best Uncle Buck impression, making the pancake to end all pancakes at the conclusion of the event.

MARC has two upcoming sponsorship opportunities: the first is for our Starry, Starry Night Prom, the second is for the play, Disney’s Aladdin Kids, with Integrated C.A.S.T. Children’s Theatre and MARC participants. Please see/call Christine Vincent or Kelly Rametta for more information.

Did you know that MARC was one of three providers in the state to be accepted into the Project SEARCH program? Project SEARCH is a unique, business-led, one year internship program that takes place entirely in the workplace. The program allows each student with a disability to be immersed in a workplace setting giving hands on experience that will increase their skills and abilities. These skills and abilities will enhance their chances at real competitive work and reaching their ultimate goals. Applications for interested parties are due by May 15 - contact Lindsey Sidera for more information.

The Manchester Duck Race, sponsored by the Manchester Lions Club, will be held Saturday, June 8, at Charter Oak Park. The proceeds from this event will benefit several local charities, including MARC. MARC is also selling tickets for the duck race - please see/call Christine Vincent or Kelly Rametta. The ducks will be ‘racing’ down Birch Mountain Brook and the first five ducks to reach a specialized cage will win the cash prizes. Winners do not need to be present.

We’d be remiss if we didn’t wish a Happy Mother’s Day to all the Moms out there, the Dads who serve as Moms, the Grandmothers and anyone who has a child, whether it has two legs or four. The day is about you - enjoy it!
